The healthiest way to deal with a panic attack is to acknowledge it. Try not to fight your symptoms. But keep reminding yourself that they will pass.

There is plenty that can be done for people who have problems with panic attacks. These can include:

relaxation techniques, such as mindfulness and meditation
healthy diet and adequate sleep
exercise
cutting back on alcohol, cigarettes and drugs
distracting yourself with mental activities, like counting

Dear sekhar,
what are your current dosages of psychotropics and the clear indication of each? What are your current active symptoms, though it is understandable that you have bipolar disorder but what type, I don’t know yet.
As being a pharmacist yourself, I am expecting you to have this information about yourself.
You can mail me at email to discuss these issues in detail, as it will be tricky to titrate multiple medications.
Take care.

Hello doctors, I want to share about my mother sickness. She was 42, from past 13 yrs, she was facing mental illness. Till last 2006, my mother was super mom, now she was unusable, actually had a fight with father till 2006. In 2006, they were ok, within six months something happened and my mother also was beaten by father. Some local things happened, suddenly mom thoughts have changed, I can't allocate here, she was admitted to Govt. Mental care hospital in 2006. One month later she was discharged, a few months later, the same things happened repeatedly, multiple times she was admitted. She talks herself, scolding, self-laughing. Shouting. now, doctors prescribed olan10 mg (2 pieces) and respidon 2 mg, no change in her, and lost her strength and abilities. Here the situation I can't explain properly. Now it's 2019, until no change in her. I am a poor, self-education. It is not for myself, it is for my mother, can help anyone, please?

The duration of illness is longer making it chronic or long standing illness which with aging brain may not subside completely. But you can surely discuss with your doctors for helping her with psychosocial interventions along with medications which may help her improve at least in behaviour and daily activities. Also the medications can be optimised further. It does take time but should impro...more

Dear lybrate user,
it is better for your daughter to continue the medicines prescribed by the doctor, for the time being. But along with this she certainly needs counselling. She might have a number of issues at this age, which she may not be able to share with anyone. The counselling process will give her an outlet to express herself and understand her own mind. Cbt will work for her, but don't insist on it. Let the counsellor decide which therapy will suit your daughter. Most counsellors w...more
