Some common ways the peroneal nerve is damaged or compressed include: Sports injuries Diabetes Hip or knee replacement surgery Spending long hours sitting cross-legged or squatting Childbirth Time spent in a leg cast Injury to the nerve roots in the spinemay also cause foot drop. Brain or spinal disorders. Neurological conditions can contribute to foot drop. These include: Stroke Multiple sclerosis (ms) Cerebral palsy How do doctors treat foot drop? Treatment for foot drop will depend on the cause. Early treatment may improve chances of recovery. Treatments may include: Lightweight braces Shoe inserts (orthotics) Physical therapy Surgery Lightweight braces are the most common treatment. They're used to support the leg. In some cases, electronic devices that stimulate the leg nerves during walking may be appropriate. Surgery may be recommended to try to repair or decompress a damaged nerve. Doctor prescribed Cefixime syrup dose of 2.5 ml per day for 5 days to my daughter, however, mistakenly I bought Cefixime Drop and I was giving 2.5 ml of that drop since last two days. As only 2 more doses of medicine were left in the drop, I bought Cefixime Syrup now. To my surprise I noticed that concentration of Cefixime is different for drop and syrup i.e. 1 ml of drop has 25 mg cefixime and 5 ml of syrup has 50 mg Cefixime. Please advise whether that higher dose of Cefixime can harm my baby. If so then what should I do now.

You should always take the prescribed drugs. If nothing abnormal has happened like rash or pain or anything else. Then less chances of side effects. Please continue the syrup as advised and consult a doctor if any adverse reaction. Anything unusual should be noticed.

My son is 1 month and 16 days old. Last few days ago we saw some little drop of blood in his stool. Then we went to doctor. He advised for his stool test. We did his stool test and found mucus, pus cell is 10-12/hpf and occult blood is negative. After seeing the stool test report Doctor said, there is an infection in his stool. Dr. Prescribed Omnix-50 (antibiotic) and Gut-Ok twice a day for five days. After completion of medicine I did another stool test at another lab and found mucus is present, pus cell is negative, occult blood is negative. After seeing the second stool test report doctor said now there is no infection. Then we told him he has completed all medicines in time but we saw little drop of blood till day. Then Doctor told us, Don't worry, there is no blood in his stool. It is only some crystal radish or some what. We do not know what is this. We are afraid about this. Is there any blood in his stool and if no, then what is this red little drop look like blood in his stool. What can we do now? please reply.

If stool test is normal other thing which cause blood in stool is constipation. I hope child is gaining weight. Get the stool test repeated from some other lab. If report is same then it must be something else not blood.

Get stool test done for presence of occult blood when you notice blood & include blood part of stool. If stool is positive for blood, check color of blood, if it is bright red it is coming from rectum or anus. If it is black blood is from intestines. Treatment is entirely different in two situations. You can use and besides this use saline nasal drops, add one drop in one nostril, wait for 1 minute and then add 1 drop to other nostril.

Dear lybrate-user, there is wak in your ear make sure it gets removed after 3-4 days. Ear will be blocked due to action of ear drop so nothing to worry about. Sore throat is causing infection in middle ear. External ear is free of infection so wax must be removed from there via syringing regards.
