Asked for female, 53 years old from Cooch Behar

I (52 years female) am having pain in the upper central quadrant of my abdomen since last ten days. Always mild pain is present. Sometimes (mostly after eating) the pain intensifies. I am taking the below medicines: 1. Olmesartan 40 + amlodipine 5 2. Rosuvastatin 10 3. Metformin 500 twice daily 4. Pantoprazole 40 what can be the cause?

I am 26 year old suffering from high bp and anxiety and palpilation. I have been taking olmesartan 20 since 4 years and ivabrad 5 since 3 months. I noticed my throat stomach flutter each time the heart beats so can actually see moving also .and m getting worried about it. I would like to know if there is something wrong? Have done my ECG which shows normal.

Previously I was taking triolmesar (olmesartan 20, amlodipine 5 and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5) my bp was 120/80 now doctor changed (amlodipine 5, dytor 5 mg) in morning and bed time minipress xl 5 mg, moxilong 0.2 than my bp is 120/75. I want to know which is group of medicine is more effective and which is heavy dose.

This time you asked to take resuva 40 for one month to control ldl which is now under control. Past few days my feet is swelling and itching and pain is there. I consulted orthopedic doctor but no benefit. Kindly guide me.

Hi
no need to take rosuvastatin in this high dose. Also pain in feet in swelling could be due to various reasons like anemia and b12 deficiency, decreased protein leves etc. You need proper evaluation. Kindly consult for the same.

Age 36 yrs. On hypertension medicines from last 9 yrs. Now on rx 1) olmesartan 20 mg + metoprolol xl 25 mg (9.00 am) 2) rosuvastatin 10 mg + aspirin 75 mg (2.30 pm)+ many mood stabilizers. Please correct your previous conditions and list of medications.
Mood stabilizers may be addictive and also cause such side effects. Which ones?
Rosuvastatin and aspirin probably over medication, required after heart attacks, not before.

This is a followup question for Dr. Anunai shrivastav who answered my question recently. He suggested to stop ramipril and take olmesartan 40 mg. Thanks for that. I will be obliged if he can tell me, if I can take telmisartan 40 mg which is consumed by my wife and is readily available with us. I can try that for a week if doctor has no reservations. Advice if amlodipine also can be continued with telmisartan. For olmesartan 40 mg ,i do not have prescription. I paste below my earlier question for reference as below:- I am diabetic on insugen 30/70 refill injection, glycomet gp2, ppg 0.3 mg and other drugs. I am also hypertensive on ramipril 5 mg and amlodipine 5 mg. My query is related to hypertension and not on diabetic problem. I am taking the above medicines for last 5 years on hypertension but my hypertension is more than 160/75. It shoots to 175 frequently. I began treadmill jogging exercise for 1 hour every day and then hypertension reduces to about 150/72. If I do not jog for 1 day, hypertension goes back to 160/170. I am consuming ramipril 5 mg + amlodipine 5 mg everyday, once before lunch. The hypertension is not at all reduced with these drugs but only by jogging. I am 60 years old and jogging for 1 hour is very strenuous, leading to knee pain frequently. Suggest replacement drugs for hypertension.

best medicine to control blood pressure is exercise as you realize. As of now your blood pressure menu is having space to either increase dose or add one more drug. Here I will suggest to add one more drug chlorthalidone 12.5 mg.

I was taking olmesartan 20 mg 1od & metoprolol 25 mg extended release 1 bd for hypertension. I also have ckd baseline creatinine increased to 1.4. I had a ptca in jan 2015 and on clopidogrel 75 mg + aspirin 150 mg -1od & nitrocontin 2.6 mg bd. My bp was excellent controlled with systolic 110-120 & diastolic 70 to 80 during the last 8 years issue since my potassium was varying between 5.5 to 5.8 during the last 5 years, I was told by my nephrologist to cut arb ie olmesartan 20 mg and increase metoprolol to 50 mg bd while my potassium has come down to 4.9 within limits in 30 days after stopping arb, my blood pressure is going up to 165/96 with 50 mg metoprolol ed twice a day. Since I am a diabetic & ckd, please suggest a medicine to get my bp to a target level of 120/80 .my resting heart rate is between 60 to 75 echo is normal with only grade 1 lvdd. Ecg normal.

I am hypertensive and type 2 diabetic, hypertension from last 4 years, diabetes from 1 year, I am 45 year old, I tried medication like Amlodipine/Olmesartan/Telmisartan in combination of Hydrochlorothiazide + Benidipine + Chlortalidone, nothing helped me, but when ever I take propranolol or Atenolol I feel comfortable, I came to know Atenolol and propranolol are not safe in diabetic, I am worried to take, my doctor giving me Olmesartan alone some time I feel chest pain, please advise weather I can continue with Atenolol or with propranolol in long run without any problems. propranolol or other betablockers group of medicines have minimal side effects compared to other medicines you had been taking
continue with medicines even if bp gets normal because these betablockers reduce the risk of getting heart attack or stroke
second fear, safety for diabetics, these medicines do affect blood sugar levels and lipids too but it's so minimal that your dose of Medicine for diabetes will not be affected.

I am a female, 61 years old. I am hypertension and I take the following medicines - In the morning- CTD 12. 5 mg, Olmesartan Medoxomil 40 mg and Prazosin Hydrochloride Extended Release 5 mg. At night- Prazosin HCl ER 5 mg and Cilnidipine 10 mg. As I was not feeling my normal self for the last few days (around 11 am daily), I went to a doctor (medical specialist), who found my blood pressure to be low (114/70). Even BP recorded at home for the last two days was lower. Doctor now has advised to stop taking CTD totally and also to stop Prazosin HCl ER 5 mg in the morning. What is your opinion on the doctor's advice, especially with regards to stopping CTD instantly, without any dose reduction. Awaiting an early response please. Best regards.

Your blood pressure is on lower side hence needs to cut down of medicine.
Just keep a check on BP.
