1.use deep breathing
deep breathing is another effective way to relieve stress and anxiety. It helps you with physical symptoms such as shallow breathing and rapid heart rate, and it also helps with controlling your thoughts. When you practice deep breathing, you're forced to take your thoughts off of whatever is causing you anxiety and to focus on the breathing technique that you are using.

Doubt and reassurances is such a debilitating that this is my 500th query on my illness on Lybrate .i am 50% improved by clomipramine as far as my ocd is concerned but as I have predominant obsession so it is very hard to get 100% result .but the worst part is that I am very unproductive, I don't bath, I do not brush for months .some well known psychiatrist says it is depression ,some says it is negative schizophrenia .i do not know who is right and doubt is still there so today I am again asking this question .my mother is schizophrenic but I don't have any classic delusion and hallucinations .i want to bath but I don't know why I can't, I just think rather execute the task .i have tried escitalopram ,fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, sertraline, desvenlafaxine with max dose for max time & I have also tried lowest dose of rpn, oleanz, qutipin, aripiprazole, amisulpride. Clomipramine is the only drug which is helping me 50% for my ocd .but what about the productivity? What is next step? please guide me!

Dear Lybrate user
if there are no hallucinations and delusions then it won't be considered as schizophrenia. As I have told you in other question your issues requires psychotherapy coupled with clinical hypnotherapy and nlp. This will for sure give you significant results in less time. I have had such clients where the diagnosis was not proper and patients were having mixed symptoms plus anxiety. Consult a good psychotherapist cum clinical hypnotherapist or contact me for the same. Good luck...more

I am suffering from cannabis induced psychosis from 8 years. See I am really stressed and depressed in my life. I hear voices which bully me, I see people talking about me and all things. I am educated about symptoms but not getting a treatment. Please I need treatment. Will anyone help. Escitalopram, venlafaxine, fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, oleanz plus, lurasid. All done on me. I gave every medicine enough time. I mean to every medicine a year. And every single medicine I mentioned gave me panic attacks, heavy eyes, heavy head. Please understand me I blindly followed every psychiatrist I visited but what will I do when the medicine gives me relaxation for 1 week, than headache starts, after that heavy head and sometimes panic attack. After that my doctor says its due to anxiety, I still take it, than a worst panic attack comes. Than I take etizolam, than paroxetine starts than the same thing repeats after sometime. From last 5 years, I am in a circle of my health. Crying.

It is not good continue medicine. It leads side effects. Better to come out from medicine. For depression psychological counselling will helps very much. I think you never attend for counselling. Strong counselling sessions are required. Use the medicine whenever you feel normal then leave it. It is best as soon as possible you should come out from the medicine. Years together you use your mind addicted to medicine. Suppose in future you cannot sleep properly without medicine. It is always bette...more

Hi, by the list of medications I can understand that you have tried a lot of medicines. Still your problem is not resolved. Since you are near to bangalore the best way I could suggest is visit nimhans bangalore and consult a psychiatrist and a therapist for your current problem you might need more of therapy and a different kind of antipsychotic which works for dysthymia. The medicines which you have mentioned are antidepressants and does not necessarily work in dysthymia.

I was diagnosed with dm 2 about two years back. Iam on amaryl-m1 bd & has hba1c of 7. I started feeling extra sensation under the feet, heaviness in foot, leg, thighs from about a month or two, some pain in hip area and finally difficulty in lifting one leg about 2 weeks days back along with knee weakness in one leg although other leg has been affected to a lesser extent till date. I never experienced very sharp pain & 2 weeks back had mild pain in my buttocks for about a week. The loss of movement in the 2 directions direction in the leg & knee weakness was quite quick about 10-12 days back. Now I do not feel any pain but had some falls primarily on account of knee weakness or weakness in right leg. Mri scan, ct scan were ok but problem was reported in nerve conduction test in both legs but mainly in right leg. Was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy or diabetic amyotrophy which correlates with my overall symptoms. Doctor put me on 8 day course of prednisone (40mg-10mg) with insulin. My sugar with amaryl m1 as on now is under control & I take light food with reasonable physical activity & sugar levels now seems to be ok 92 fasting /140 pp. Also started visiting a physiotherapist from today. As of know there is appears to be some improvements in my walking (can walk 15-20 min at a stretch inside home) though weakness in one leg & knee persist. I cannot drive due to difficulty in movement of my right leg when trying to move it sideways while sitting. It is also not possible to lift the right leg against gravity when laying down though backward lifting & movement on sideways when lying on one side are intact. Have been prescribed pregaba m 75 (hs, neurkind+. Have no pain of any type. My questions 1) has peripheral neuropathy reached a plateau ie. Stopped or not 2) is pregabalin needed in my case as I have no pain, i. E. Whether it play a role in nerve regeneration or is overall beneficial in such situation 3) can I expect improvement in my right leg in 1-2 months time with sugar control & exercises.

1. Peripheral neuropathy is a on going process even in normal individuvals as age advances due to deficiency of vitamins mainly b12
2. In your case pregabalin is needed for some time 3. Nerve regeneration is impossible for anyone 4. Definitely you can expect improvement in the right leg in 1-2 months with good control of sugar & exercises.

No, it will not help. 1.Fresh aloe vera can be used on open pores as it will help hydrate your skin and tighten it. Use aloe vera juice/gel from its leaf (fresh), not from readymade gels available in market. Remove skin of an aloe vera leaf. Take /scoop out gel. Apply this gel to your skin. Wash with plain water after an hour. Or keep it overnight.
2.Banana—run the inside of banana peel against your skin. Wash it after 10-15 minutes
3.Cleanse regularly with a mild cleanser twice a day to...more
