Studies have looked at over 2500 babies born to women who took olanzapine during early pregnancy or throughout the pregnancy. These studies suggest that olanzapine use during pregnancy is unlikely to increase the chance of birth defects above the background risk.
Before planning pregnancy understand and accept higher risks to both mother and baby in view of age.
Also some reports, vaccinations and supplements are required prior to planning pregnancy.

Rage is contagious. When you have a temper, it may be difficult to admit there's a problem. You find yourself going from zero to 100. You were calm, and then your partner (or someone else) said something that triggered you. You snap, say something incredibly hurtful, and feel guilty. Before we know it, we go from being the adult in charge to the child having an emotional meltdown. I used to have the same issues. I was always an aggressive child. I was considered a very hot-headed person. I used ...more

Oleanz is ok, but lonazep in such high dose for years together is not advisable as it is a benzodiazepine and may carry unwanted side effects. Discuss with your psychiatrist and take sedative, non addictive medications and for constipation there are also non addictive ways to overcome, which your psychiatrist will tell.

Lybrate-user,
The medications olanzapine and Clonazepam are prescribed in low doses if there is a renal impairment under the supervision of a psychiatrist and only when the benefits of taking the medications outweigh the risks. If you have anxiety and depression issues you could review how bad the symptoms are and start cognitive behaviour therapy which does not involve medications. If that helps you and your symptoms reduce then medications can be reduced and stopped by the psychiatrist.

Hi. lybrate-user
there are several studies now on nutrional suppliments on brain and how neuro transmitters are being produced or balanced.
Particularly omega3, folic acid, minerals like zinc, magnesium etc
but a correct diagnosis is primary.
Acute management of your problem may need medication also.
Also avail psychologists evaluation and counselling.
Take care.

You cannot take the tablets on your own over the counter as they are schedule h drugs and need proper evaluation from a psychiatrist, before being prescribed. They also produce side effects like metabolic changes which need to be monitored. They can be given initially and changed later to better medicines for maintenance. All these will be done by a psychiatrist, so kindly consult one. Good luck.

Since you are already on medication I suggest you talk to your treating Psychiatrist and convey your current symptoms to them. It is possible that some changes in medication dosages will help improve the symptoms. As they are familiar with your history it is always better to have a discussion with them regarding this situation.
