General Physician•
Taking both together may cause restlessness and sleepiness, hence not advised. However, if you do not have any such symptoms, do not worry. Would advise you not to have any other cough syrup for 24 hours take plenty of fluids to reduce the effect. For your cold, you may take steam inhalation and warm saline gargles will alos help. Medication only gives symptomatic relief and has no role in cure of a cold.
Take care.

Nop. You can not give it without knowing the cause of breathlessness. We need to know in detail about your child like age, duration of symptom, past history, allergic history, drug history, chest examination finding etc etc. If you can share in detail, then only some opinion can be given. But breathlessness at this age is a medical emergency which you should not keep lightly without knowing the cause!

Or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 2. Don't drink water before meals. This can fill your stomach and make it harder to get in enough calories.
