Pregabalin and muscle relaxant both can have the side effect of dizziness. If pregabalin is the cause, then most likely symptoms are to get subsided within a week or so of medicine intake once the body get habituated to the drug. Pregabalin can be taken for longer periods of time but only under medical supervision. However muscle relaxants should not be taken for a longer period of time.
You can contact with a detailed history of yours for further advise.

If diabetes is in control normally other complications are either delayed or of less severity. Since your problem is long standing one, it may not completely go away. Pregabalin is a good drug to help in this condition. But it equally essential to maintain a strict sugar control to get better relief.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
One of the most common and early seen complication of diabetes is peripheral neuropathy, with symptoms that you have described. Pragabalin is one of the better treatments to control pain. However, best option is achieving a strict blood glucose control with FBG < 100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% < 6.5%. Since there is absolutely no information on the following : FBG, PP glucose, HbA1c%, weight, height, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, lipid profile an...more

Thank you for contacting on this Lybrate. These side effects are very common with pregabalin and are expected to be resolved once your body gets accustomed to the drug, usually a period of 5-7 days. Preferably take the drug at bed time so that you are not bothered with these symptoms during dayvtime. For further discussion about your symptoms, you can definitely contact further.

Every medicine has some or other side effect. It depends on what benefit you obtain vis a vis the side effects. Pregabalin is regularly prescribed in lumbar canal stenosis and had a good track record. Oxcarbamezepine is infrequently used, in comparison in lumbar canal stenosis cases. Both can be used and the predominant side effects of both is sedation. They can be started and stopped if side effects are bothersome.
