Any nicotine that is swallowed with saliva or washed down with eating or drinking will not be effective. If a substantial amount of nicotine is swallowed, it may cause such side effects as heartburn, upset stomach or hiccups. Thus, do not eat or drink while you have the gum in your mouth.
Your feedback matters. Thank-you.

We have few option. Nicotine patch, nicotine chewing gum and other medication. If you have strong will power then 3 months would be enough for it. Just consult a psychiatrist who has expertise in field of drug deaddiction.

Smoking can cause cancer and other physical problems. The best method to quit smoking is to use your will power and sustain it with your will power. There are other methods like deaddiction therapy. Nicotine, whether chewed or smoked, stays in your in your urine or saliva and can be detected by tests. In urine tests, nicotine can usually be detected for 3-4 days, but in more passive smokers, it can remain for up to 15-20 days. In a saliva test, which is the most accurate test, nicotine can be detected for more than 10 hours or up to 2-4 days.
