You can change to amlodipine but amlodipine effect comes gradually over 2 weeks. So for first 2 weeks bp may be slightly high, but later it should work perfectly.

Your blood sugar should be controlled with medicine, exercise and diet. Itching in thighs are probably due to fungal infection but other causes may be there so you should consult with consultant dermatologist. Keep area clean and dry and apply appropriate medicine prescribe by your dermatologist.

I’m 5 weeks pregnant. Before I found out I was pregnant I used to take my blood pressure medication on empty stomach first thing in the morning. Now I’m pregnant can I still take it at that time on an empty stomach? The drugs I take are methyldopa 250 mg and nifedipine 20 mg.

Yes you can take blood pressure medicines empty stomach, but do not take both medicines at the same time. If you are taking methyl dopa twice daily then take nifidipine at mid noon.

I am 41 and diagnosed of bp over a year now, have been on lisinopril 5 mg and amlodipine 10 mg but the bp is mostly on 130/90 but when it shoot up above that I use nifedipine 30 mg to bring it down. Pls I am tired of all the drugs what should I do? Note, I do not smoke, reduced my salt intake, exercise and do not eat meat.
