It depends on nature of cough and weight of the baby. If weight of your baby is more than 8 kg and having wet cough and congested chest then it's safe for him.

I think you should go for liver function test and whole abdomen ultrasound ,after the diagnosis consult with the physician .there is no point of taking medicine just to suppress the symptoms ,as your symptoms show there may be some alteration in your liver physiology, and also suspect of gallstone .so just rule out the cause then took proper treatment.
