I have seen the query. TSH 4.8 mU/L is in the normal range. That is good. Please let me know how log have you been taking Carbimazole 5 mg once a day? (Months or so)
Secondly did you have any symptoms ealier like palpitation, sweating, anxiety loss of sleep or disturbed sleep etc? Are those symptoms gone or reduced? Unless these details are known, it is difficult to give a clear answer. When was TSH 0.03 mU/L? Please let m know these details. Thanks...more

Kindly get an evaluation done by a DM Endocrinology person at the earliest. Low TSH can be due to either the gland that is function more which appears to be more likely in your mothers case. However, low TSH can also be due to leakage of thyroid hormones from the gland which is caused due to thyroiditis that is self limiting condition. For a diabetic person it is essential to achieve a strict blood glucose control. That means fasting blood glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <7. That too considering your age HbA1c% should be <7.
As regards TSH, in a well controlled hypothyroidism patient TSH should be around 3 to 4 mU/L, then only one will be free from all the symptoms of thatcondition. If TSH is 34 mU/L, means current dosage is not adequate. It has to be increased....more

Do not worry, let her body slowly accommodate and improve on its own. Let her concentrate on eating a healthy and balanced diet. Avoid all types of junk food/processed and packaged food and beverages. Have more of natural ( unpolished food ) and also seasonal fruits and vegetables.
