you have not mentioned your BP reading, kindly consult with the same. In general high blood pressure patients should avoid smoking, eat a healthy heart diet while avoiding high salt containing food and exercise daily for 40 mins.

BP is a fluctuating problem, it can increase or decrease from time to time and is also age related (you have not mentioned your age so it will be difficult to say if 140/90 is acceptable BP for your age) my suggestion is keep a watch on your BP and if it persists to increase or remain above 130/80 mm Hg continue with atleast one anti-hypertensive, also do lifestyle modifications, diet change as these will help reduce need of medication. Hello lybrate-user. Pain killers are not the treatment of cervical spondylitis. They will only subside your symptoms but your problem will not b corrected. You should do hot fomentation regularly for 20-30 minutes twice daily. And along with this do neck isometrics and stretching exercises. And also start using down feather's pillow or cervical pillow.

You need to review your case with your doctor (for a through clinical evaluation and some tests) to help manage your high BP. It needs to be analysed with a fresh perspective. Please try to change your lifestyle (add Yoga into daily routine) which can help natural healing. You can also take Homeopathy which can help to restore harmony. You can contact me for a private consultation with all the previous and present reports.
