No bleeding yet, I have taken the contrapill kit what to do now? Only Mifepristone pill I took? When bleeding will start? After taking misoprost pill or what? please tell me.

Get ultrasound done
Don't take oral pills for more than a year at a stretch
It's right to know about after effects of pills when the woman is wanting a baby
The effects of hormones present in the pills take sometime, maybe few months to wane
But pregnancy is not affected if other reasons are not present.

Hello.
Medical abortion is safe with a high success rate if done before 9 weeks of pregnancy.
However, in 5% of cases, there may be incomplete abortion and heavy bleeding requiring hospital admission and surgical management.
So it's very important that you do medical abortion following proper protocol and in guidance of a local gynaecologist who can take care and manage in case of emergency.

I have 53 days pregnancy. I have taken misogest abortion pills in which the first day I have taken mifepristone after 24 hrs. I have taken only one tablet of misoprostol instead of two by which the bleeding started with pain. After 12 hrs. I have taken the another tablet of misoprostol which I left. And after 8 hrs. Aprx. I have taken the third dose of misoprostol. The bleeding doesn't stops but it is not that heavy. And also the pain is very mild. What should I do. Should I worry about this. It has been 3 days when the bleeding starts.

Don’t worry if the bleeding is mild. But if it is not reducing even today, get a scan done. I recommend a vaginal pelvic scan, because abdominal scan will not be clear. If there are no scan doctors available due to lockdown, visit emergency services near by.

I suppose you mean you missed your periods by 2 weeks. Taking these pills over the counter is not advisable. Please consult a gynaecologist personally.

Since I am on ATT treatment 2 months I was asked to do abortion by pills So I took mifepristone 200 and 48 hrs later misoprostol 600 at 7: 30 pm yesterday. I had cramps slightly but in the late night pain got relieved. But I am not bleeding yet Y this happens how long it will take to bleed after misoprost Thank you.

Hi lybrate-user. The hormones can take upto 2 weeks post abortion to decline to undetectable levels. Till then the test will show positive result only. Only after 2 weeks if still positive then probably the procedure is still incomplete. To confirm, ultrasound is the best measure to assess if the abortion is complete or not.
