Misonil 25 MCG Tablet
Misonil 25 MCG Tablet is used for medical abortion and treat post delivery bleeding. It is advised to take this medication only after taking medical help. It is used also for preventing stomach ulcers while you are under the medication of certain NSAID drugs; especially if you are at a greater risk or have a family medical history of ulcers. It can also help to decrease your risk of ulcer complications such as bleeding.
This medication works by protecting the lining of the stomach, by lowering the acid amount that comes in contact with it. Misonil 25 MCG Tablet can also be combined with mifepristone, to be used for abortion. Before being prescribed to Misonil 25 MCG Tablet, inform your doctor if you have conditions like-
- Heart disease
- Kidney disease
- Ulcerative colitis
- Crohn’s disease (inflammatory bowel disease)
- Pregnant or trying to be pregnant
- Breast-feeding mother
- Any allergies to medicines or food.
You can take the medication with food. Make sure that you follow your doctor’s prescribed dose and do not stop taking it abruptly. In case you miss a dose, you can take it when you remember it but do not take two doses in a single time. If using it on children, ensure to talk to the paediatrician first as special care may be required.
You must avoid smoking or drinking while you are prescribed to Misonil 25 MCG Tablet. They can possibly cause more irritation in the stomach, making it susceptible to more damage. Also, do not have the medicine if you are pregnant or plan for pregnancy while taking this medication.
Symptoms of overdose Misonil 25 MCG Tablet include sedation, tremor, convulsions, dyspnea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, hypotension, bradycardia. Take as directed; continue taking your NSAIDs while taking this medication.
Take with meals or after meals to prevent nausea, diarrhea, and flatulence. Avoid using antacids. You may experience increased menstrual pain, or cramping; request analgesics.

Misonil 25 MCG Tablet is used to prevent and relieve the symptoms of ulcers caused in the upper parts of the small intestine. -
Gastric Ulcer
Misonil 25 MCG Tablet is used to prevent and relieve the symptoms of ulcers caused in the food pipe and stomach. -
Nsaid Induced Ulcers
Misonil 25 MCG Tablet is used to prevent and treat ulcers caused due to use of non-steroidal pain medications like diclofenac, ibuprofen etc. -
Induction Of Labor
Misonil 25 MCG Tablet is used to induce labor in pregnant women. -
Postpartum Bleeding
Misonil 25 MCG Tablet is also used to prevent and treat bleeding that happens after delivery. -
Cervical Ripening
Misonil 25 MCG Tablet is also used for relaxing and softening the cervix prior to the onset of labor contractions. - Misonil 25 MCG Tablet is also used to terminate or abort a pregnancy which is less than 49 days. It is used in combination with other medications and requires a doctor's supervision for the process to happen efficiently.
- This medicine should not be used to treat ulcers caused by the uptake of non-steroidal pain medication or otherwise by pregnant women. It can cause birth defects, abortions, uterine rupture etc.
- This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a history of allergy to it or any other medicine which are prostaglandin analogues.

Missed Dose instructions
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, then the missed dose can be skipped. -

Contact a doctor immediately if an overdose is suspected. Symptoms of overdose may include sleepiness, diarrhea, severe stomach pain and cramps, fever, decreased pulse etc.

Report the use of any magnesium containing antacid to the doctor before receiving Misoprostol. The risk of medicine induced diarrhea is very high when these medicines are used together. Inform the use of any antacid to the doctor before Misoprostol is prescribed. -
