I took mifepristone and 4 misoprostol tablets and bleeding occurred with cloting, the bleeding is still going on from last 2 days but bleeding is light now, is my abortion successful? ,can I take extra misoprostol for cleaning of ovary.

Bleeding after taking medical abortion pills last for about 7 days. Initially bleeding is heavy with passage of clots, gradually bleeding decreases .you need not take another misoprostol pill.
Repeat your pregnancy test after 2 weeks of tdking abortion pills, if negative it means abortion is complete.

You will have to take the tablets if have not yet bleed and you also should confirm your pregnancy before taking tablets

Yes there are oral tablets.
If abortion does not succed with drugs then one may need D & C so accepting that extra risk you have to start drugs.
Drugs for termination of pregnancy can be taken only under the supervision of doctors licensed for termination, so meet Gynecologist.
After drugs, for termination of pregnancy, it is sonography 15 days later which decides the success of treatment.

I took misoprostol of 4 tablets and I wrongly swallowed more than half of the dissolved dose before thirty minutes. Will the abortion be successful? And can only 4 misoprostol tablets work full abortion.

More than 4 tablets have lots of side effects. It's ok wait for two three days. If bleeding doesn't start, take two tablets again.

Yes you should. Bleeding does not decide anything.
After drugs, for termination of pregnancy, it is sonography 15 days later which decides the success of treatment.

I visited a gynaecologist a few days ago. She did an ultrasound and was advised that I am 5 weeks pregnant. For abortion she gave me a few tablets and I would like to know if I have been advised the correct way to take these medicines. Day 1, 10 am: 1 mifepristone and 1 misoprostol tablet with water. Day 2, 10 am: 1 misoprostol and another misoprostol tab at 10: 30 am buccally, keeping it under the tongue until it dissolves day 2, 12: 30 pm: 2 more misoprostol tab to be taken orally with water day 3: no medicine day 4: 1 misoprostol tablet after breakfast with water day 5: 1 more misoprostol tablet after breakfast with water. Do I really need to consume so many misoprostol tablets, I have read a couple of places online that 4 misoprostol would work. So I wanted a second opinion on this just to ensure I am not over dosing on misoprostol and that these would’t impact my future pregnancy in any way.

Hello lybrate-user.
Actually for termination of pregnancy standard dose protocol is one mifepristone and 4 tabs of 200 mcg misoprost are required. But it can differ from gynecologist to gynecologist based on their experiences. And taking additional misoprost will not affect future pregnancies. Regarding number of misoprosts, once confirm with your doctor and then take them.

You need only take 3 doses ,12 hours interval. Overdosage can produce side effects.

My friend has used Mifepristone and Misoprostol kit for her abortion of 4 weeks pregnancy as per a doctor's suggestion from a clinic. She started bleeding after using 1 Mifepristone and 2 tablets of misoprostol. She assumes that she has aborted and does not want to use remaining 2 misoprostol tablets as the cramps are more. Please suggest if she has to completely use the kit for complete abortion or is it enough as she is having bleeding now.

hi Bhanu in order to avoid incomplete abortion she should use all the tablets in kit.
even though she had good amount of bleeding it's better to use remaining tablets also

My gynecologist has suggested to take contrapill kit for abortion of five week pregnancy. She suggested to take mifepristone with water and after 48 hours, 2 tablet of misoprostol orally. But I am confused and forgot to ask from my gynecologist that, should I swallow misoprostol with water or to take it sublingual or buccally? What's best option to take misoprostol?

hi since u r staying at home. Drink it with water. Dont use sublingual or buccual
however all these 3 routes work
