Mirtazapine is fine, you need to taper and stop zolpidem which is addictive and carries long term risks. Discuss with your psychiatrist. All the best.

You cannot and must not quit medication just like that. It has to be supported by your doctor always. Normally, if you have been on medication and that too the optimum does and your brain gets accustomed to this dose and medication for at least 3 years without any relapses, you can reduced gradually. Dear Imityaz,
Instead of mirtazapine and its dose, you need to learn a non medical management of stress. Interviews are normal daytoday stress like exams. You will be facing them often. It does not need mirtazapine. Mirtazapine is not a sedative to make you sleep better. Sedation is a side effect of mirtazapine.
Please learn Jacobson's deep muscle relaxation exercise or yoga/pranayama or meditation or anything your family members ask you to practice.

As sudden reduction may lead to relapse of symptoms or o...more

Yes, smoking can hamper sleep. Since you seem to have identified issues from childhood, have you thought of seeking the help of a counselor? If you have skewed your biorhythm by this extent, then you will need to give yourself some time before it returns to the normal cycle. Even if you feel less anxious visibly, there could be underlying factors to consider that may disturb sleep. You need to check on your prenatal history and early childhood for influencing factors. You must combine medication...more
