Dear Sriram,
Don't worry too much about labelling of tablets as antipsychotic (amisulpride, quetiapine) or antidepressant (serta, xet, mirtaz). We are trying to reclassify according to neurochemical changes they bring about. Some of them, like mirtaz, acts on 3 different neurochemicals. Psychiatrists use antipsychotics in depression and antidepressant in psychosis. All are for better improvement in your symptoms so that you can have a better quality of life.

However, there are times when we all can go around in circles; and being in this space can be quite upse...more

Dear Sir I recommend not to stop the medication as it can lead to a relapse of symptoms of depression. See her psychiatrist and have a detailed discussion about your concerns about the medications. There are medications options which are not known to cause weight gain and sexual problems. Your psychiatrist can review the medication and prescribe accordingly.
Thanks Regards.
