Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
The dosage of various medicines for glucose control can be adjusted on the basis of patients needs, doctor's advise and also based on dietary intake. Usually Glimepiride is either given once a day or twice in some cases. Metformin can be given 3 times a day again depending upon the need. Voglibose is usually recommended with each meal, that is three times a day. As it is mainly for reducing post food glucose rise. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the query and understand your concern. However, there is no mention of blood glucose levels (fasting & pp), hba1c%, your weight, height, dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise and lipid profile as well as bp readings. All these details are needed before any advise can be given. Action of glimiperide and metformin is different. The need for the patient depends on the severity of glucose levels. If you are looking for a less priced glimiperide the...more

Nitrosamines increase the risk of cancer at above acceptable levels over long periods of time. We don't expect short term exposure at levels above acceptable levels would increase cancer. However, consult a good physician for further information in this regard.

Metformin is safe drug used for insulin sensisitation. It will not make you thin. If you are very particular to change it, tab hyponidd one twice daily is an effective substitute. After 2 weeks, you can increase the dose to 2 tabs twice daily.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Treatment for diabetes has to be continued even when your glucose levels become normal. There is no stoppage of treatment. Aim at achieving fasting glucose closer to 100 mg, PP 180 mg & HbA1c% 7%. Your weight is too high, with a BMI of 32.81 kgs/Sq meter you are in grade 1 obesity. This is an invitation for high glucose levels. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. It is not clear whether blood glucose level mentioned is fasting, PP or random one. Considering your age, fasting glucose can be around 110 to 120 mg & PP can be about 180 mg or so. What is the HbA1c%? It should be around 7%.
One imprtant factor is you have excess weight with a BMI of 32.81 kgs/Sq meter(Normal < 23 kgs/Sq meter). Your actual body weight should be around 54 kgs. Hence, there is an excess of over 30 kgs. This ...more

in my opinion it should not be used. keep your face dry, wash 4-5 time a day, apply retino-a cream at night and wash your face before sun rise as sun rays can darken your face. Welcome
