Yes metaprolol has some trigger effect for asthmatic patient .i hope during taking prescription with your doctor you told each and everything about the medical history of your father. As I knew doctor considered all these things but if you are having doubt then ask him. Without your physician's advice do't abruptly stop taking.

I suggest do not change the medicine from metoprolol to telmistatran 40 because by this your blood pressure become elevated sir. Continue the same medication sir.

One more thing about your diagnosis of hypertension, is questionable in view of very low dose of drug which will not control your blood pressure. May be at the time of diagnosis some other circumstances like stress and all.

If all hypertensive pt won't go to office then 30% people have to work from home. Even when, it does not include cardiac pt, copd pt, ckd and diabetics.
I think you can go to office safely, take all precautions, continue to take bp medications.
