Eslo is safe but eslo will have gradual effect on BP, usually takes more than 3 weeks for full effect. It is much stronger than metoprolol succinate, so make sure you need strong medicine before it is started.

Metoprolol will only treat the autonomic (i.e. Heart rate and BP symptoms) of anxiety not the cognitive symptoms (those related with mind like anxious mood, feeling apprehensive, fear, etc) they are treated by medications by psychiatrists, which may even make your metoprolol dose less or not required at all, so kindly consult a psychiatrist as anxiety disorder is a primary psychiatric disorder. All the best.

For my diabetes I am taking glimepiride 2 mg, metformin sr 850 and human mixtard 70/30: (60 units 30 morning 30 night) two times both morning and night but my diabetes is not under control. I think I have hormone imbalance and my body produce too much cortisol or I have been converting type 2 to type 1. So hereafter can I treat with insulin alone for type 1 without taking above medicines. I am aged 56. See my history. I am diagnosed by diabetes after marriage at the age of 36 but from my childhood I made bed wed several times for many years now I think it is due to diabetes and during that time no treatment was taken. When I was small boy I ate 15 idly for breakfast since I felt always hungry and at present I am eating 5 idly only. Not only diabetes I enjoy hyper tension for which I take telmisartan 50 mg, amlodipine 5 mg and metoprolol 100 mg. Apart from diabetes and hypertension I am suffering from gas trouble and constipation. I shall be very grateful if you kindly advice me a best treatment.

What is dose of metoprolol? high doses of beta blockers like this can lead to weakness but that is not weakness but feeling of relaxed! yes you can take multivitamin. You must continue with metoprolol only as other reports are normal, this medicine protests the heart, specially if bp is fluctuating but talk to your doctor about the dose. My suggestion is 25 mg /day every morning and in evening if required if bp is high on borderline. Do moderate exercise to boost up metabolism.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi.
Since it is a medicine prescribed by a general physician, it is best for him to answer on this although I can tell you that I am not aware of this side effect of telmisartan. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
