Hi.
Both are same test.
You can get HIV PCR done after 10-15 days of the exposure for confirmation of the reports.
You can Also get HIV ELISA test done at 90th and 180th day for confirmation.

The most effective treatment for hiv is antiretroviral therapy (art). This is a combination of several medicines that aims to control the amount of virus in your body. Antiretroviral medicines slow the rate at which the virus grows.

For HIV 1 DNA 22 days is more than enough. Hiv2 is present in India, but is rare. 1-2% are purely HIV 2, 1-2% are HIV 1+2. It can be transmitted in single sex, but chances are much less. HIV 2 is less transmissible than HIV 1. For any further information please take a private consult.

Hello.
You are not infected with hiv 1 as the nuclic acid based test can be done after 10 days of suspected infection to be valid. However the test is not the recommended screening test and it excludes hiv 1 and not hiv 2, though very rare. Thanks.
