I am aged 69 yrs. For last 2 to 3 days suddenly I am having nausea, vomiting 5 times along with loose motion 3 times. No urge to eat food. I have taken vibact ds bd, redotil tds, mahacef plus 100 bd for 2 days but relief is not significant. Still feeling nausea. Passing of stool now is very hard with stomach pain. I am very worried. I am on eltroxin 50 mcg for hypothyroidism. Apart from that taking medicine for bp (metoprolol 50 mg+amlodipine 5 mg) and teneligliptin 20 mg. Both bp and diabetes are under control bp-116/78 and hb1ac 5.5.may I request you for any advice sir for resolving the issue. Regards.

My son is continuing coughing past 20 days, I had visited doctor and he suggested mahacef100, montek lc and chericofls in our first visit but it didn't work, he suggested pft test which had been done and reports is moderate, in 2 d visit he suggested nebulizer with levolin. 0.63 mg and budecort 0.50 mg for 7 days and in night montek lc once in a day night time. But my kid situation is worse he is coughing like bark. My kid is 7 years old. Pls suggest what should I do.

I don’t know if you are treated for your tuberculosis If you mean that you were asymptotic then that doesn’t guarantee you complete cure
And kindly go to a qualified Chest Physician today and stop whatever is given to you because we need to preserve that drug for very serious tuberculosis only.

Hi. I am a 35-year-old woman. From iran. I weigh 81 kilos.in the last three years, I have had regular kidney checks. The last one was six months ago. My creatinine number is always 0. 76 or 0.78.my laboratory range is 0.7 1.4.my urea number has always been 17 to 19. My normal laboratory range is 17 to 43. Butmy new test is my creatinine number 0. 88 and urea are 16. I have less than the normal amount in the laboratory. My creatinine is higher than usual. Has my kidney lost function and have been damaged? I have have been taking alprazolam for six years. Has the medicine damaged my kidney? Six months ago, I received six doses of one gram of ceftriaxone intravenously. Due to ocular sinusitis. Did the ceftriaxone damage my kidney? What should I do ?i had a urine test. My afternoon urine. It was completely normal. Should I have another test? Can my kidney get progressive damage? I'm very worried. Please help me.

I received blow job from a prostitute and I had penis foreskin herpes sore but the sore is healing n scar is formed and immediately after exposure within 2 hr I used ceftriaxone 1g iv n azithromycin 2g orally stat. My question is m I at a risk of contracting hiv or other bacterial std after using the following drugs as post exposure prophylaxis coz after 24 hr of exposure having mild fever n flu n ache symptoms. Exposure ws yesterday around 6-6.30 pm please hlp me.

Yes there are chances of infection as you have taken antibiotics and they are not effective against virus like herpes or HIV.

Hello lybrate-user. Cetriaxone is an antibiotic and have no effects on viruses of HIV and hepatitis or herpes. So you have chances of it. Without proper tests it is not possible to determine whether you have contracted it or not.

I am 29 years old male. I had mild fever for three days after which I consulted a doctor. He asked me to take lab tests for CBC and Widal test which I took. Salmonella typhi (O) was 1: 160 and Salmonella typhi (H) was 1: 80. He has prescribed me injection ceftriaxone 1g IV for three days two doses per day and he said that is enough and no need to take any other antibiotics. Now I have completed 5 doses and have only one dose remaining. He has not prescribed any antibiotics after when I have completed the injection doses. Do I need not take any antibiotics after the injection doses. Because I have learnt that the bacteria do not die easily and I may become a carrier for life long which bothers me more. Kindly help.
