Some of the major side effects of this medicine are an increase in blood pressure, stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, nosebleeds, severe skin reactions and liver damage. Dear Lybrate user. It sounds like you get overexcited whenever you initiate for sex. Due to anxious approach duration of Erection may be reduced. Try pranayama-yoga to reduce your anxiety levels. Lie closely to your wife but without touching as long as possible, engaging in romantic conversations, and though it is difficult to practice try it to remain without hip movement after insertion as long as possible. It needs great patience and cooperation from both of you. If all these don't work, there is a behavior technique called Senate focus exercises which can be taught through online, if you are interested.

For dandruff, you may apply Ketoconazole shampoo. Wash your face twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil from your skin's surface, avoid touching your face or picking up the pimples and blotches as it further spreads the bacteria. A dietary therapy with the right medications for pimples can also help a lot. Drink lots of water. Consult a dermatologist for proper treatment.

Your sugar levels are uncontrolled but they are not touching any panic value. So you needn?t worry as much as you are worrying right now and the only remedy in your condition would be to alter your medicines for the best benefit. You need to understand that we are always in a dynamic state of sugar control meaning by which no single medicine can be prescribed for life as the sugar levels keep on fluctuating in the body. I would recommend you to seek a private consult with me.

Diaper Dermatitis - Causes And Symptoms

Babies go through a host of problems that we usually refer to as growing pains. This article is of special importance to most mothers who are going through myriad problems like colic, teeth and even diaper rash. Diaper rash is known as diaper dermatitis in medical terms. When the skin of the area within the diaper becomes red and goes through inflammation, it is known as diaper dermatitis. Read on to know more about the condition, and how it may be treated.

Symptoms: The most obvious and common symptom of diaper dermatitis is the signs on the skin which will bear a patchwork of red blotches that may look tender to touch. The baby will also seem more irritable and cranky as the discomfort and pain starts to grow every time the diaper rubs against the rashes. Bleeding, itching and oozing can also occur, in which cause it is imperative to consult a doctor immediately. Also, if the rashes are accompanied by fever, one must get it checked as there may be chances of an infection. Diaper rashes can also cause pain during bowel movements and a burning sensation during urination.

Causes: There are a number of reasons for the occurrence of diaper rashes. Trying out a new product may sometimes give the baby a rash as the sensitive skin of the child may not take to some ingredient. Therefore, it may develop as an allergic reaction. This new product may be a cream, lotion or a new brand or type of diapers. Further, sometimes when we introduce new foods, the baby’s skin may erupt into rashes as a part of an allergic reaction. Also, chaffing or rubbing may cause such rashes, while prolonged use of the diaper without a change is known to be one of the most common causes of this condition. Bacterial or yeast infection can also cause diaper dermatitis. Also, antibiotics can cause rashes as a side effect.

Diagnosis: The diagnosis of the condition is usually done by a dermatologist or a paediatrician based on the symptoms that you list out as well as physical examination of the area. The doctor may also check the baby’s temperature in order to ascertain if there is any fever or any chance of an infection.

Treatment: One should keep the baby’s skin dry and absolutely clean at all times. Also, it would be recommended to use cloth diapers for a few hours a day so that the skin may get a chance to breathe. Further, the doctor will prescribe mild hydrocortisone ointments. Antifungal creams may also be used in case there is an infection. Oral antibiotics may also be prescribed in such cases.

Homeopathy to cure Acne

Homeopathy to cure Acne

HERE ARE SOME FACTS ABOUT ACNE.

A) Acne is a skin disease involving the oil glands at the base of hair follicles.
B) It affects 3 in every 4 people ages 11 to 30 years.
C) It is not dangerous, but it can leave skin scars.
D) Treatment depends on how severe and persistent it is.
E) Risk factors include genetics, menstrual cycle, anxiety and stress, hot and humid climates, using oil- based makeup, and squeezing pimples.

WHAT IS ACNE?

Acne is a common skin problem.
Acne is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease that results in whiteheads, blackheads, pimplles, cysts, and nodules. It is not dangerous, but it can leave skin scars.

  • Human skin has pores that connect to oil glands under the skin. Follicles connect the glands to the pores. Follicles are small sacs that produce and secrete liquid.
  • The glands produce an oily liquid called sebum. Sebum carries dead skin cells through the follicles to the surface of the skin. A small hair grows through the follicle out of the skin.
  • Pimples grow when these follicles get blocked, and oil builds up under the skin.
  • They tend to appear on the face, back, chest, shoulders, and neck.
  • Skin cells, sebum, and hair can clump together into a plug. This plug gets infected with bacteria, and swelling results. A pimple starts to develop when the plug begins to break down.
  • Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) is the name of the bacteria that live on the skin and contributes to the infection of pimples.
  • Research suggests that the severity and frequency of acne depend on the strain of bacteria. Not all acne bacteria trigger pimples. One strain helps to keep the skin pimple-free.

CAUSES

Acne stress

  • Stress can be a key trigger of acne in some cases.
  • A range of factors triggers acne, but the main cause is thought to be a rise in androgen levels.
  • Androgen is a type of hormone, the levels of which rise when adolescence begins. In women, it gets converted into estrogen.
  • Rising androgen levels cause the oil glands under the skin to grow. The enlarged gland produces more sebum. Excessive sebum can break down cellular walls in the pores, causing bacteria to grow.
  • Some studies suggest that genetic factors may increase the risk.

Other causes include:

  • some medications that contain androgen and lithium
  • greasy cosmetics
  • hormonal changes
  • emotional stress
  • menstruation

TYPES

Acne pimples vary in size, color, and level of pain.

The following types are possible:

  • Whiteheads: These remain under the skin and are small
  • Blackheads: Clearly visible, they are black and appear on the surface of the skin
  • Papules: Small, usually pink bumps, these are visible on the surface of the skin
  • Pustules: Clearly visible on the surface of the skin. They are red at their base and have pus at the top
  • Nodules: Clearly visible on the surface of the skin. They are large, solid, painful pimples that are embedded deep in the skin
  • Cysts: Clearly visible on the surface of the skin. They are painful and filled with pus. Cysts can cause scars.

TIPS FOR MANAGING ACNE

Here are some tips for looking after skin that has acne or is prone to it.

1.Wash your face no more than twice each day with warm water and mild soap made especially for acne.
2.Do not scrub the skin or burst the pimples, as this may push the infection further down, causing more blocking, swelling, and redness.
3.Avoid popping pimples, as this makes scarring likelier.
4.A specialist can treat a pimple that requires rapid removal for cosmetic reasons.
5.Refrain from touching the face.
6.Hold the telephone away from the face when talking, as it is likely to contain sebum and skin residue.
7.Wash hands frequently, especially before applying lotions, creams, or makeup.
8.Clean spectacles regularly as they collect sebum and skin residue.
9.If acne is on the back, shoulders, or chest, try wearing loose clothing to let the skin breathe. Avoid tight garments, such as headbands, caps, and scarves, or wash them regularly if used.
10.Choose makeup for sensitive skin and avoid oil-based products. Remove makeup before sleeping.
11.Keep hair clean, as it collects sebum and skin residue. Avoid greasy hair products, such as those containing cocoa butter.
12.Avoid excessive sun exposure, as it can cause the skin to produce more sebum. Several acne medications increase the risk of sunburn.
13.Use an electric shaver or sharp safety razors when shaving. Soften the skin and beard with warm soapy water before applying shaving cream.
14.Avoid anxiety and stress, as it can increase production of cortisol and adrenaline, which exacerbate acne.
15.Try to keep cool and dry in hot and humid climates, to prevent sweating.
Acne is a common problem. It can cause severe embarrassment, but treatment is available, and it is effective in many cases.

Penis Sensitivity and Foreskin Restoration

MD - General Medicine
Sexologist, Delhi
Penis Sensitivity and Foreskin Restoration

There has been a debate raging over the past few decades about the common practice of circumcision for infant boys. Those who promote the practice believe it leads to better hygiene later in life. But those who are against it point out that the loss of foreskin can mean significant loss of sensation. Even the best penis care might not be enough to allow a circumcised man to feel the intense sensations that uncircumcised men do.

But besides the desire to improve penis sensitivity, many see foreskin restoration as a good way to right the 'wrong' done to those who are circumcised long before they are old enough to make the decision for themselves. There are several ways to go about foreskin restoration; we'll talk about some of the most popular, as well as what a man can expect from penis sensitivity if he chooses to go this route.

Foreskin restoration options

Ultimately, there are two options for restoration: Surgical and non-surgical. The surgical route involves grafting tissues from other parts of the body, such as the scrotum, onto the penis to elongate the skin that is already there behind the glans. The result is a penis that looks and acts as though it is uncircumcised, but the jury is still out on whether it really improves penis sensation. That's why many doctors recommend the non-surgical options.

Non-surgical options usually include some sort of traction device or weighted device that pulls the skin down over the glans. It works very slowly. During the time a man is using it, the body generates new cells that allow the skin to be pulled farther down over the glans. Eventually, a man might have enough skin to cover the glans and make it appear that he still has his natural foreskin. The level of patience and dedication must be very strong for a man to make this a viable option.

What does it all mean for penis sensitivity?

  • For most men, the heightened penis sensitivity that comes from having a foreskin stems from the fact that the foreskin covers the glans, thus protecting it from the harsh environment around it. A man with an uncircumcised penis has that gentle layer of protection between the most sensitive part of his penis and the underwear, trousers, and any other material that might come into contact with it. The result is an area much more sensitive to touch.
  • How does a foreskin restoration help? Over time, the skin that covers the glans allows it to lose some of the 'toughness' it developed over the years of being touched by underwear and other materials. This, in turn, allows the penis sensation to come back, making a man much more sensitive. Other options to make this happen do exist in the form of an artificial foreskin, which is simply the use of a very soft, pliable cover that attaches to the head of the penis with gentle pressure (such as a Velcro closure), which keeps the glans encased in a warm, slightly moist environment that mimics what a real foreskin would do.
  • When a man is considering foreskin restoration, he should always do thorough research and consult with his doctor about ways to regain penis sensitivity. He should also make good use of a daily penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). A crème that contains Shea butter and vitamin E can go a long way toward keeping skin smooth and supple, ready for the lightest touch. A crème that contains L-carnitine can also be helpful in preventing peripheral nerve damage that can result from excessive handling, exposure to environmental issues and much more.

Abdominal Pain - When Should You Not Ignore It & Visit A Doctor?

Abdominal pain also referred to as stomach ache mainly appears in the pelvic and chest regions. The pain can be dull, crampy, sharp or recurrent. It occurs mainly due to a disease or inflammation that affects the abdominal organs. It is very important to seek the assistance of a doctor, especially if the pain is severe and is associated with pain in the chest and trauma or injury. It is not necessary that the pain in the lower abdomen be a cause of alarm, but it is essential to know the cause of the pain.

Symptoms of Abdominal Pain

  • Belly ache is not something one should get worried about, but if the pain radiates downwards from the chest it could be a sign of heart attack. If chest pain radiate to left arm or back then think of cardiac and rarely pancreatitis ( especially for radiation to back).
  • In case the symptom is accompanied by lightheadness or shortness of breath, it is very important that the doctor is contacted immediately.
  • To avoid serious medical conditions, it is best to avoid pain killers as the symptoms would get hidden and the cause of pain would be difficult to identify.

What are the Main Causes of Abdominal Pain?

  • The major organs of the abdomen include the stomach, gall bladder, small and large intestines, kidneys, liver, pancreas, appendix and spleen.
  • Significant abdominal pain is caused mainly due to bacterial, parasitic and viral infections that affect the abdomen.
  • The abdominal pain could be caused due to inflammation, intestinal disorders and blockages.
  • The other common reasons that can produce pain in the lower right abdomen include diarrhea, constipation, stress, vomiting, stomach flu, and acid reflux.
  • In the case of acid reflux the contents of the stomach go back into the esophagus and cause symptoms such as heartburn.

Common Causes of Pain in the Abdominal Region
The most common cause of abdominal pain is constipation, which is caused by difficulty in the digestive tract to push the waste out of the body. Severe pain in the lower abdominal area can rupture the organs and result in appendix. Infection in the kidney or occurrence of stones in the gallbladder can also cause pain in the abdominal region. Pain in the abdomen can also be caused by different types of cancer.

Some of the causes of abdominal pain are life threatening and therefore it is important to consult a doctor if the pain persists or lasts for a few days. It has been observed that even a heart attack can cause pain in the upper abdominal region or even cause back pain. Immediate medical attention should be sought in cases where the patient has fever, severe pain, weight loss, persistent vomiting and nausea, swelling of the abdomen and severe tenderness on touching the abdomen..

Zuchini vs Cucumber - Do You Think You Know The Difference?

Zuchini vs Cucumber - Do You Think You Know The Difference?

If placed side by side, you may confuse a cucumber with a zucchini and vice versa. Given that both have a dark green skin, are long and cylindrical , you wouldn’t be the only one to be confused. However, try using one in place of the other and you’ll realize your mistake in a second. Let’s take a look at some of the differences between these two vegetables.

  1. Fruit or Vegetable: Though they may look similar, cucumbers and zucchini do not belong to the same family. Cucumbers belong to the gourd family while zucchini belongs to the Cucurbita family. Technically speaking, cucumbers are considered to be a fruit by many people. However, you wouldn’t really put a cucumber in a fruit salad.
  2. Know just by touching it: When you touch a cucumber, it is relatively softer as compared to a zucchini. A cucumber will also feel cool and waxy while a zucchini is more likely to feel rough and dry. Cucumbers may feel a little bumpy to touch while zucchinis are typically smoother.
  3. How does it taste: Cucumbers are generally eaten raw while zucchinis are cooked. However, cucumbers can also be cooked and zucchini may be eaten raw or pickled. Tastewise, cucumbers have a fresh taste and are juicy due to high water content. On the other hand, zucchinis have a heartier flavor and may even tend to be slightly bitter. When cooked, zucchini holds its shape better than cucumbers that wilt easily. However, zucchini softens when cooked while cucumbers will maintain a slight crunch. It is also important to note that zucchini flowers are edible while cucumber flowers are not.
  4. Calories: Cucumbers have a slightly lower calorific value as compared to zucchini. Zucchini is richer in vitamin B and vitamin C as compared to cucumbers. Both vegetables have relatively equal amounts of calcium but zucchini is richer than cucumbers in potassium and iron. Zucchini also has a higher amount of protein and fiber.
  5. The best way to eat it: Cucumbers are ideally eaten raw or pickled. A cold cucumber can be quite refreshing on a hot summer day. Cucumbers typically find themselves in salads or sandwiches. They can also be used to flavor water. On the other hand, zucchinis taste better when baked or stir-fried. Apart from being chopped and used as vegetables, zucchini is often made into the shape of noodles that are popularly known as zoodles. Zucchini can also be shredded and baked in loaves of bread and muffins.
