Hb1ac level, serum creatinine, vit d3 calium and phosphorus level has to be done. Diabetic diet and excersise ismust. Depending on fbs/ppbs insulin has to be changed.

I am sure you are aaware that for vials containing 40 units / ml insulin you have to use a syringe which depicts 40 u/ml on it. Similarly for 100 units /ml vial, there is a separate syringe showing 100 units/ml on it. So when use these specific syringes, it easier to take specific dosage based on the marks on the syringe. every insulin has it's time of action. for example human mustard 30/70 has 12 hrs of action or actrapid has 6-8hrs , novorapid 4 hrs humalog 4 hrs humalog mix25/75 has 12hrs lantus (glargine) has 24 hrs etc..
after it is finished then sugars will start rising again and need another shot.

The doctor who prescribed insulin is the right person to ask. Do not go around asking for opinions of strangers that will lead you to real trouble.
