Dark discoloration and thickening of skin are signs of insulin resistance and it is known as acanthosis nigricans. This can be reversed by following healthy lifestyle.
You should do regular physical activities and also try to follow balanced meal. Try to avoid more of simple carbs such as sugar, cold drinks, sweets and refined wheat products as these can ellevate sugar spikes and will further lead to more insulin resistance.
