In case of epilepsy since you are on meds for 3 years, if the seizures are completely controlled and eeg is normal, a trial of gradual taper of medicines can be given. But always taper medicines after consulting your neurologist. And there is always a chance of recurrence so that risk has to be borne in mind.

Dear lybrate-user,
It is nice of you for fighting against depression since 20 years. Doctors are also researching for newer and newer medicines and treatments.
It is good that you are finding lamictal useful. Routinely upto 200 mg is prescribed. At times, it may be taken upto 400 mg also. Talk to your doctor and find out.
Discuss with your doctor on add ons. Many of them are available like SamE, 5HT, thyroxine, etc.

Hello dear Sunil kumar , hi

Warm welcome to Lybrate.com
I have evaluated your query thoroughly .

* In routine urine microscopy , there is no check up for certain specific drug content , but if they check
specifically for drug excretion , then you may face big troubles .
I strongly recommend to stop all medicines at this point .

Hope this clears your query .
Wishing you fine health ahead .

Welcome for any further assistance .

Yes, crying does help but it is an indication that some grief has not been totally dealt with from childhood. Anyway it is not enough to seek medical treatment alone. You need to combine counseling with the medication. When you meet the counselor s/he will discuss the archaic sadness. Please visit these professionals along with your parents. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good...more

Dear lybrate-user,
None of the anti epileptic drugs are safe to use during pregnancy but are given in patients as the risk of getting seizures gets high. There are certain newer drugs like leveteracitam and Lamotrigine which are safer to use than those you are using and hence you should try to conceive and should consult your neurologist regarding changing the medicines once you conceive.
