These two medications have a different mechanism of action but they both active on blood pressure so that they can be equally effective but that cannot be proved unless you keep a regular blood pressure record so I would advise you to check your blood pressure regularly and get back to your doctor if there is any variation also aldactone is a diuretic which can lead to electrolyte imbalances so you should check your kidney functions regularly as well.

Do not substitute or change any medications without the consent of the doctor who is treating the patient. If needed you can discuss about your doubts to the doctor who can help you understand the situation. The doctor tries to give what suits the individual patient and asks you to come for review regularly ( personal examniantion ) so that the present prescription is based on clinical and other findings.
