I'm 33 old married women with 2 small kids.(height 5'4 weight 58 kg) I have a problem of piles. In initially it started before 3 months n with tighten stool n pain only. I had pilex tabs plus ointment for month but situation got worsen. Then I started lactulose syrup 25-30 ml before bed continued for 2 months, there were no pain but still was having only one time chapatis n having oats in breakfast n in dinner. There was a little muscular structure was outcome after one month when it started but after lactulose it became smaller n got inside anus again. Then doctor suggested me to have joint pancharisht after meals n replaced lactulose with 10 ml of freelax plus syrup. First some days were no change. After using one bottle of the syrup my stool again gonna tighten up again I started lactulose 30 ml (since last 5 days) little bit better i'm feeling but today I saw very little amount of blood in stool. Doctor please help.

Hello lybrate-user, from history, you are having piles (probably 2nd degree. To get rid of it, you should avoid 2 things - constipation and straining. Straining is a habit, if you have it then peter to change or control it, for control of constipation, you should regularly take at least 2.5 litres of water, plenty of veggies and fibres. Probably you are suffering from a condition called anal fissure which causes pain even during sitting. Use 4% xylocaine jelly before & after going for defecation. Take "looz"(lactulose) syrup 30 ml at bed time to soften your stools. You can hot water siz bath twice daily for 10 minutes each time.

You have to check blood to see if hypothyroidism is the cause for your constipation and treat if it is therfe.. If fine , you have to eat high fiber diet and drink 3-4 liters of water daily. if not useful, still, take lactulose syrup . Looz syrup is the best The lump can be a polyp and need check up

Dear ,
cardinal principle of treatment before or after surgery is avoid constipation at all costs. Yes you can take enema and also take sitz bath: sit in a tubful of warm water for 15 minutes may be twice a day.
