Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
The main reason for increasing Insulin resistance (IR) is your obesity. The fat around internal organs like liver, kidney, pancreas and other organs does lead to increased IR. So main requirement is to cut down your excess weight. Ideal BMI is < 23 kgs/M2, where as it is 35 plus. Usually waist size should be <85 cms and BMI should be < 23 kg/M2. So please try and reduce the weight, that will improve glucose control and reduce IR. Thanks.

1) I hope you have been well investigated for cause of BP because it is unusual to have high BP since the age of 17, if you have not consulted a cardiologist till now, I will advise to consult a cardiologist once for evaluation of cause. 2) The medicine you are taking presently even though are used for BP control, but there are other drugs which will be more effective, so you discuss with your doctor regarding change of medications. 3) As per your weight and height, you are slightly over weight....more

The cause could be an enlarged heel bone due to age related changes, hormone, uric acid or something else for which a complete work up would be required. I suggest you meet an orthopedic doctor and a general physician.

Spiranolactone/ bisoprolol / apixaban all medicines seems to be started for valid indications.
Spiranolactone may cause alopecia (hair loss) and also insomnia (sleep disturbance)
bisoprolol and apixaban are very very less likely to result in the said adverse effect.
Would like to know from you when was your dvt diagnosed and how long have you took apixaban and at what dose, was any scan done after 3 or 6 month interval to find residual dvt if any, and what was the cause for your dvt ...more
