If you have doubts about the correctness of the diagnosis you have at least 2 options
i) ask for some time from the doctor (and offer to pay fair charges for the time allotted to you) and request the doctor to explain the diagnosis to you and why he makes that diagnosis in your case. Please don't argue with the doctor. Just listen to the doctor's explanation and ask for further clarification of medical terms if you have not understood. Your job is to understand the doctor's thought process a...more

Bipolar depression is very different to normal unipolar depression and need very specific treatment. The treatment you are taking if not helping you, you need to take a second opinion from another psychiatrist nearby or online. I am sure you can easily get out of this depression with right treatment. I need more information regarding your illness history which is necessary to provide you perfect treatment. Consult a psychiatrist with detailed history for better treatment. All the best.

Oleanz plus itself may give sound sleep. Lithosun 900 mg is also one of the culprit for kidney higher side reports. Discuss with your psychiatrist about your kidney reports and your serum lithium level with 300 mg of lithosun three times a day. Depending on the lithium level he may reduce the dose of l...more

Please request your physician to refer her to a psychiatrist. If she is still not willing, ask the physician to consult a psychiatrist colleague to optimise the treatment. Remember that Fludac takes 2-3 weeks to act. Licarb is usually prescribed for Bipolar Affective Disorder as a mood stabiliser. One has to monitor the serum lithium level regularly for better benefit.

This is a troublesome question to a lot of people on medication. Bipolar 1 what you have now is a long-term recovery program. You should not rely on medication alone and must therefore combine it with some therapy too. This is the best approach. Comply with all the medical prescriptions, and work in tandem with a counselor for a long time and learn coping skills and techniques to handle the daily challenges you will face. There are certain adaptations that will suit you during the elation phase ...more

Hi lybrate-user I will suggest you to never stop medicines without asking your doctor because the symptoms will relapse again and you will be in problem again so always ask your doctor that whether you can reduce medicine or not. And for anxiety you can start breathing exercises for time being and for negative thoughts start writing one positive thought daily. I hope this will help you thank you
stay healthy.
