Hi, there are few centres where they work up refractory epilepsy cases. They basically do mri scans, video eegs and other tests to confirm the location of spread. It may be curable with a surgery life long if maximum dose of medications is not helping you.

It's side effects are sleepiness, headache, dizziness, anxiety etc. So these symptoms can effect. But directly medicine has no side effect on memory.

She should be investigated further if she hads first time seizure at this age. Continue leviteracetam for her seizure disorder, post ictal confusion adn psychological changes occur but may be transient, better to get evaluated by a psychiatrist or a neurologist, if the confusion is prolonged. Brahmi may be given but thet will not be all. Please get evaluated.

It is recommended that you do not drink alcohol because it does reduce your seizure threshold thus making you more likely to have a seizure or a fit and lower the effect of the medication levetiracetam.
