Dear Sir/Mam, My 4.5 years son and 1.5 years son got cold (sticky running nose) since 5 days. The elder one developed mild cough from yesterday. Both of them don't have any other issues and no fever as well. I was using syp of Cetrizine Hydrochloride and Ambroxol Hydrochloride (3 ml for elder son) from Day 2. But no change in symptoms. So I took them to Pediatrician on Day 4. Dr. Suggested him Syp. levocetirizine dihydrochloride (3.5 ml) and steam for elder son. Should I start this new syrup? Or any better treatment? Kindly suggest.

This syp is pretty much the same as you have been given earlier. These are viral infection which usually settle in their own. However antibiotics are needed if secondary infection develops as evidenced by fever and toxicity. Continue with mild remedies. If the cough does settle within a few days, see a doc.

Taking medicine from a medical store directly is the stupidest thing to do.. If they can prescribe medications then why do we need doctor.. So think twice.. Otherwise it is best for you...

It was cured completely by these medicines I found these very helpful but again I'm getting throat pain and runny nose. Please suggest me some medicines which I can take whenever I get these symptoms as I hate going to the doctor again and again. What do I do I'm really fed up of taking medicines almost every month also I sometimes try home remedies which hardly helps for me?

My grand child aged 2 years, was having slight suffocation in breathing after recovered from viral fever. For the control of fever he was given amoxicillin +Clavulanic acid dry syrup. Slight suffocation at times (kurukal in malayalam language )observed after the recovery of fever which persisted for about a month. Then again consulted with the same Doctor and prescribed, levocetirizine Hydrochloride syrup, Ambroxol Hydrochloride and salbutamol Syrup, Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate solution (5 mg/5 ml 2 times, Montelukast 4 mg tablet etc. I would like to know whether Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate solution (5 mg/5 ml 2 times) is required for this slight difficulty (kurukal) in breathing. I would also like to know, whether this steroid drug will affect the growth of the child or precipitate any hidden diabetic issue. Kindly answer to doubt.

Steroids will have ill effects if taken for long periods of week to months in growth at gain and rise in b sugars eventually. You may try my holistic health care and NSAAOL Therapies based on nature science and art of living. Also I have special fruits food and drinks which will rid him of all problems thirdly I will give him NATURAL immunoboosting programmes so his immunity gets strong. Besides lung repair by diet and NUTRITION. But once I need to examine his cardio respiratory reserves and systems.
