I started treatment on 5 Dec 2017 with TB (I have infection in my colon, I used to have stomach pains) 1. Combutol 8002. Pyrazinamide 10003. Ricnex 300/450.4. Sompraz D.Then after 1 month, when I did LFT the ALT level were 129.0, so my doctor switched me to below medication for 1 month 1. Combutol 800 2. levoflox 750 3. Uricure 300 (2 Tablets) 4. Streptomycin 0.75 mg for 31 day (one injection daily) Then after 31 days when we did LFT (We did multiple LFTs in between to keep track to see my ALT levels are lowering) everything was good and we switched back to 1. Combutol 8002. Pyrazinamide 15003. Ricnex 300/450.4. Sompraz D.After taking above medication for 3 weeks, Then I fall sick due to some cold and had fever for 3-4 days and my ALT levels again at 150.0 and then now my doctor has again switched to Streptomycin injections 1. Combutol 8002. levoflox 7503. Uricure 300 (2 Tablets) 4. Streptomycin 0.75 mg for 31 day (one injection daily) So now after almost 3 months, from 27/02/2018 I am on injections and combutol again. Don’t I need Rcinex? Is it ok to switch like this and wait for alt levels to lower again and again start with rcinex and pyrazinamide. I did not have any other problem during this 3 months period, its just my alt levels go up. Please advise, do I need to consult some other doctor?

My mother is suffering from chest pain and tuberculosis problem and she is surviving on one lung. The medicines she has been taking are levoflox,(750 mg), p-zide (750 mg), refmacine (750 mg) ,kenamac-5 mm. After taking these medicines she is feeling too much of body pain particularly at the joints, she has upset stomach regularly. Please suggest or explain the problem caused due to medicines. Whether she should continue with the same medicine or change them? At What places we can expect best tuberculosis treatment and medication.

This could be because of gout. This is because pyrazinamide causes raised Utica acid level. Get it checked.

Hello sir I am. Taking MDR tb medicine from. Last 3 months my TB back. Again.after 1 year I am taking cycloserine 500 mg ethambutol 800 mg pyrazinamide 1500 mg levofloxacin 500 mg ethionamide 500 ml cycloserine 500 mg kanamycin 750 ml daily I am both refamcin and isonazide resistance I want to know is this conventional 24 month course or new 12 month short regimen treatment I consult another doctor who. Is saying this is long time course.

Hey I've been taking the following medicines for 4 months and still counting. 1) Isoniazid 2) pyrazinamide 3) moxifloxacin 4) Ethambutol 5) 60 streptomycin injections (10 pending) and lastly I wanna tell I also took omnacortil steroid 10 mg for 3 months along with these medicines and it's over now. I have swelling on my body because of it. I just wanted to know how long will it take to go away. can I gain weight at this point when I have swelling. If this swelling goes away I'd be thin as I was. I want to gain some weight before the swelling goes away totally. It's been 15 days I stopped taking omnacortil. please suggest me some ways to gain weight with this condition. I have to take akt for more 5 months.

My aunt is of weight 73 kg. She has dry cough and enlarged lymph nodes in neck. On doing fnac of neck lymph nodes, tuberculous lymphadenitis was suggested. She was started tb treatment on rcinex 600 combutol 1000 pyniza (750 mg×2). Today she has completed 2 months with above medicines. Now the doctor suggested to take akt4 for next 4 months. They have heard that after completing 2 months, one tablet (pyrazinamide) has to be stopped. Please suggest what to do and which medicines to be taken as 2 months have been completed.

Yeah that is how the treatment for tb is done. For the next 4 months she has to continue rifampicin and isoniazid.

I had completed my pulmonary tuberculosis course of 6 month but after 20 days I got reaction in my whole body it becomes red rashes but doctor advised me not to stop medicine as it will reduce with time but after 1 month I got problem in my thoracic spine bone. It's starting paining. I completed my course of 6 month att that is rifampicin isoniazid ethambutol and pyrazinamide. But the problem I got in spine that is hurting me till now. I want to know does tuberculosis spread in another organ in middle of treatment. And one more problem I eat a lot but weight is continuously decreasing. Why?

Hi. Seems to have involvement of lung and spine both due to tbâ¦ need to consult orthopedics/ neurologistâ¦ mri spine or whole body pet ct to look for other sites of involvementâ¦ could be drug resistant or paradoxical phenomenon or rule out any other alternative diagnosisâ¦in my opinion att to be continued for 9-12 months atleast. Rule out collection in spine. Consult doctor nearby. Thanks.

I just got into maintenance phase in tb treatment because I finished my 2 months medication. Before im taking 3 tablets of quadmax, contents of quadmax is Rifampicin 150 mg, INH 75 mg, pyrazinamide 400 mg, ethambutol HCl 275 mg. Now my doctor said that she will transfer me to maintenance phase and she gave me 1 tablet of Rifampicin isoniazid 450 mg/400 mg a day. I forgot to ask my doctor if I need to continue drinking 3 tablets of quadmax. Do I need to take also 3 tablets of quadmax or the 1 tablet of rifampicin isoniazid only?

Medicine in quadmax is insufficient as per ypour weight. Need to take rifampicin/ isoniazid 450/300 and ethambutol 800 daily in continuation phase.

Hi, My mom 67 years age had a lump in side neck, some test was done, one doctor said it is TB but another doctor said it is not TB though he started TB treatment but she has sever side effects of rifampicin and pyrazinamide in liver, sgpt and sgot values goes very high and she was hospitalized couple of the time. So now doctor prescribed combunex 800 mg and moxigood 400 mg tab. After few days that lump disappeared and before few days a very little lump appeared some far from first lump. So please tell me is this drugs are enough to treat TB bacteria. And should I get diagnosed her TB again to make it confirm that she realy has TB or not?

I was suffering from tuberculosis in lungs and started medicine on 20 June 2017. After 8 months of treatment with rifampicin, Isoniazid etambutal, pyrazinamide, it didn't got cured. Then forecox started with streptomycin from 9th March but then I got lymph note tb, doctor with these medicines only this will go, but the lump is increasing. My cbnaat of cough showing MTB detected low, but Genexpert of lymph is showing MTB detected medium. Both test has rifampicin resistance Not detected. What should be I do. Still forecox with streptomycin is continued. What is the maximum days streptomycin can be continued?

In my opinion you are on wrong advise. Forecox is same as rehz and adding only streptomycin to failing treatment is not good. Get culture and sensitivity for afb and add four new anti tb drugs under supervision of respiratory physician.

Hello my name is kajal sharma, one month back I was diagnosed with tuberculosis which is outside lungs. I have a big lymph node with pus in this in my neck area. Doctor recommended me tablet ripe fd for tb treatment. This tablet includes all the 4 main salts in addition with vit b6. Dosage are isoniazid (150), pyrazinamide (750), ethambutol (400), rifampicin (225) pyridoxine 10 mg. Please tell me is it the right dose and treatment i'm getting right now. My size of lymph node and it's pain is increasing. Please help.

Hiâ¦ 3 tablets of ripe fd kit should be taken together in fasting state as per your body weight â¦ otherwise you can switch to akurit 4 4 tablets all before breakfastâ¦ look for paradoxical phenomenon or drug resistanceâ¦if it is paradoxical phenomenon need to add oral steroids in tapering doses along with anti tuberculosis medicationsâ¦ better consult chest physician nearby. Get genexpert from lymph node aspirate. Get complete pus drainage.
