Dear lybrate user. Many of the trading high protien powders in the market are having steroids mixed with them which predisposes a person for depression. As you already had an episode of depression in the past, you be cautious of what that powder contains as ingrediants. Spirulina in pure form has no such interactions.

Dear Nikhil,
Probably she would not have come out of depression and she stopped the tablets only on symptomatic relief. It is better to consult the doctor and then stop the medicines. Now that she is depressed, let her consult the doctor again and start the medicines. Sometimes, the same medicines in the same dose may not work that well for a relapse.

All your medications suggest psychological disorder, for which medications are to be continued under supervision of psychiatrist. A consultation with a physicain for detecting a specific cause for underweight and appetite should be done. If normal for general tonic b complex syrup or lysatone syrup can be taken.

Zolpidem and clonazepam are not to be taken for long. Olimelt as you say can cause weight gain. There are ways to counter this or alternates which give sleep on long run without causing harm. Consult a psychiatrist and seek remedy. Good luck.

Yes, she has serious condition and will be on medication for a long time. But she should go for therapy sessions too. You have not mentioned her age and that could be significant to her recovery too: the younger she is, the better the prognosis. There may be some genetic factors too. She should be made to cooperate because she may not realize and tend to act out and become uncooperative in therapy. In therapy she will learn a lot of skills, tools and techniques to cope with her condition. Any wa...more

Dear Doctors, I have peyronie disease since 2011. Now my plaque is calcified and hardened and settled. I am also not having any pain in penis as earlier while erection. Howevwe, the length of my penis is shortened by 01 inch and upward bend is there. The plaque is there in top of penis to lateral side On both in mid of shaft with hourglass shape of penis while erection. I does not have any problem with ejaculation. I have read about gotu kola in many forum on internet and also in lybrate in Dr. Rahul gupta post. I want to know whether the drug is useful in such late disease condition on calcified settled plaque. Also is there any formulation of gotu kola available to apply topically on plaque on penis directly without any allergy or adverse effects? Does there any chance to soften the plaque and gain the penile length and girth back with improvement in penile bend With any other natural or ayurvedic Topical therapies? I am applying castor oil and cow ghee but did not see any improvement in long term. Waiting for positive and helpful reply! request to reply on below mentioned mail only. Thank you.

Pill, such as pentoxifylline or potassium para-aminobenzoate (Potaba) may help.
If those don’t work, you may get a shot of verapamil or collagenase (Xiaflex) into the scar tissue of the penis. If nothing else works, your doctor may consider surgery, but usually only for men who can’t have sex because of their Peyronie’s disease.

Hi, 65 years old aunty was taking olimelt tablet (as per psychiatric doctor advise) from march for auditory hallucinations problem. She was ok, but since she started having light stomach pain sometimes, she was thinking that its due to allopathy tablet and she wanted to change that. As per homeopathy doctor advise, from november first week, she is taking homeopathy tablets daily and taking olimelt once in 2 days. For 2 weeks no issue. But since yesterday, she seems to be having sleeping disturbances, not sure if she is hearing anything because she is not revealing, but she is disturbed slightly. Please advise if she can continue the homeo doctor approach for some more days and see if any improvement? I understand homeo will take time to react. Would like to ask experts opinion if it is a right approach? Any other tips to divert her thoughts/ manage? Pls provide some insights. Thanks in advance!

Taking olimelt on alternate days is present in no treatment protocol and cane be in fact detrimental rather than being helpful. Consult a psychiatrist and get proper medication and dosage. Get a gastroenterologist opinion for her stomach ache. It is your choice to try homeopathy, but it is very risky to combine 2 patties as the interactions have not been studied and cane be serious. So follow one stream which helps her, whichever it is. Good luck.

Dear are you taking these two meds without break since 2006. If you arer and u didn't face another episode of illness since then, then it is time to reduce your medicines. Start with reducing Olanzepine to 2.5mg per night. Otherwise please consult a psychiatrist to get review of your medications.
