Hii
use a ketoconazole containing anti-dandruff shampoo atleast twice a week for atleast two months. Then maintain your oily scalp on once a week. Avoid oil applications, any hair gels, etc.
If the dandruff is severe you might need to take a course of oral antifungals.

Control as opposed to cure may be a more appropriate end point in the treatment of dandruff. Shampoos containing Ketoconazole, Zinc pyrithione and or Salicylic acid are generally recommended a few times a week and then less often once the condition improves.

Hello lybrate-user!
sometimes dryness of scalp too causes itching. For a healthy hair healthy scalp is needed. Have a balanced nutritious diet. Include nuts and fruits in your diet. Moisturise scalp with almond oil/ olive oil mixed with castor oil. Apply tea tree oil or you can mix it with shampoo. Use anti dandruff shampoo only twice a week. Anti dandruff shampoo containing zinc pyrithione, sulphate and zinc oxide, selenium are active ingredients you can apply.

The main reason is the oil in the scalp gets lodged in the hair follicles giving enough space for bacteria to form and they eventually becomes pimples. So the best you can do is start using acrolane shampoo or any antimicrobial shampoo available to you. Try not to rub the area.
