It is FDA approved. It is used in India in some centers only. It has rapid antidepressant effect, but the effect also goes off quickly. Good luck to you.

Ketamine helps in depressive disorder or depressive phase of bipolar mood disorder. It doesn't help in mania, hypomania or mixed phase of bipolar disorder.
Your condition needs to be assessed first, to come to conclusion if ketamine infusions are going to help you or not!
I have experience of administering more than 300 ketamine infusion for my patients suffering from treatment resistant depressive phase of mood disorder conditions.

Dear Sunil,
Definitely ketamine therapy is a hope along with all other add ons for treatment resistant depression. Ketamine can be given as infusion during a suicidal planning, as tablet or nasal spray at other times. The dosage is a critical factor since it is a new treatment. Strictly under doctor's supervision.

Ketamine is an option for treatment resistant depression but it needs a special setting. And there are other options too. Ketamine therapy has short lasting effect in depression so try for other modalities. You can consult me or any psychiatrist.

Dear Pawan,
Ketamine has to be taken as injection. It will be helpful for immediate effect especially to prevent suicide. In the long run, you need only tablets. Ketamine may enhance the action of other tablets or tide over a situation. You can try CBT with ERP, rTMS, ECT......

Ketamine can help as an antidepressant and it's effects are very short lived. You can consider changing the combination of medications for you feel your OCD symptoms aren't under control. Remember OCD is a long term probably life time condition. Good luck.
