Lantus insulin is long acting insulin. If patients fasting/PP Sugars are not under control and and Hba1c is persistently above 8 % then some times it is advisable to go for premix insulin like humalog + NPH insulin for better glycemic control and maybe twice in a day injections. If you have recent post heart bypass surgery then it is very important to maintain Hba1c below 7%.

Which Huminsulin, is it premix, or Long acting, it depends on that. Because Apidra is short acting meal time insulin. I assume that Huminsulin is long acting N preparation, if that is the case, still your lunch time insulin cover may not be there. If your blood sugars and HbA1c is under control and they are no episodes of hypoglycemia that is low blood sugar, it is fine. For further queries book an appointment.
