According to the treatment you are getting, I can see the effort of your doctor. I think you should consider taking insulin atleast for one time in a day to control it along with your medication. As you have hba1c of 10.8, it's good for your health to start insulin atleast once daily. Pls consult to your doctor about it or you can consult me online m.

The timings would be mentioned in the prescription paper given by the doctor. You can also talk to the doctor if there is any confusion. Since there are no specific timings, the doctor can make changes according to the response of the body and the lifestyle of the patient.

The delayed version releases the drug more slowly and this usually eliminates the gastrointestinal problems.

Ir is immediate release and sr is sustained release formulations. Both work well but usually sr formulations have lesser gastrointestinal side effects.

Hello, thanks for the query.
Both the products are same. The er refers to extended release, which means the drug is released slowly over 12 hours in the gut. That helps maintain a longer therapeutic level. It is beneficial more so if a person has any side effects like gastrointestinal disturbances if plain metformin is taken. Both are fine. Thanks.
