Mr. lybrate-user,
Both the drugs belong to dpp - iv inhibitor group and have equally good glucose reducing effect. You may continue one of those. Thanks.

IT should be taken with meals to help reduce stomach or bowel side effects that may occur during the first few weeks of treatment.

Swallow the tablet or extended-release tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush, break, or chew it.

While taking the extended-release tablet, part of the tablet may pass into your stool after your body has absorbed the medicine. This is normal and nothing to worry about.

Janumet contains sitagliptin and metformin. This tablets basically helps to control post meal high sugars. I think you just need to take it regularly. You can continue triglynase 2 as before.

Hello, thanks for the query.
In general it is better to avoid alcohol for a diabetic person. The reason is that it has no nutritional value but provides empty calories. It also blunts hypoglycemic awareness. Once a while a small quantity may be taken. Thanks.

Miss lybrate-user. It would help if you could send me hba1c levels along with weight so that the titration of the mediation can be done.
Thank you.

Mr Satyabrata, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. The glucose levels mentioned are quite well controlled. However, regarding the change of drugs (adding Tenelegliptin instead of Sitagliptin) may be due to cost. There is no worry about the safety of Tenelegliptin at all. It is quite good. In fact it helps in improvement of liver functions. So no need to worry. Thanks.
