Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. All the brands of 30/70 insulins are invariably having same potency. The level of action is dependent on the units used in every dose. All the insulins marketed by standard pharmaceutical companies have action. If the combination is 30/70 it means 30% fast acting & 70 % long acting insulin combination. There are 40 units per ml as well as 100 units per ml vials are available. That needs to be kept in mind while using the injecti...more

Yu have to use 100 U syringe and take the correct dose. N 100 is different as it contains long acting Insulin Isophane (NPH)(100IU). There is no short acting part in it. It is taken once daily with additional regular insulin if needed before meals. Need to discuss.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Usually no oral anti-diabetic medication is used in treating T1 DM. However, Pioglitazone has been used occasionally and there seems to be some advantage in using it. It may help in stabilising the glucose levels better, without altering the weight or insulin requirement.
Weight loss in diabetes occurs if blood glucose levels are not well controlled. When glucose level goes beyond 180 mg, kidney filters excess glucose in to urine, which is lost, thus there i...more

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
I am sure you are aaware that for vials containing 40 units / ml insulin you have to use a syringe which depicts 40 u/ml on it. Similarly for 100 units /ml vial, there is a separate syringe showing 100 units/ml on it. So when use these specific syringes, it easier to take specific dosage based on the marks on the syringe. Thanks.

Rather than trying to treat yourself with a type 1 diabetes you should at least spent a few years in medical school.

Hello, It is difficult give the dosage based on the information given. If you are on Glargine 40 units at night, then oral antidiabetes drugs plus another combination like Wosulin 30/70 (it is 30 /70 not 30/50), it is a bit odd. Because you are already on a long acting compound. So ideally there should be a short acting one to check post breakfast and post lunch surge. Another aspect the mentioned glucose levels are not too high, therefore Glargine and oral drugs should be enough to give a bette...more
