diabetes medication shouldnot be switched suddenly without complete details and history. Even if switched to alternative, the patient needs to be closely monitored. Inspite of insulin, if the post prandial sugar is so high, I would suggest you to please continue with insulin currently but discuss with your mom's physician and kindly raise your concern. U100 and u40 is different. If you will commit mistake in that than there can be dangerous outcome.And your sugar will go haywire. And also both insulin is different. Ask your diabetologist about it.
