Insulin helps control blood glucose levels by signaling the liver and muscle and fat cells to take in glucose from the blood. insulin therefore helps cells to take in glucose to be used for energy. If the body has sufficient energy, insulin signals the liver to take up glucose and store it as glycogen.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
There are many brands of 30/70 combination Insulins in India. You can ask the chemist and pick up one of those. Also ensure the regular availability. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user P Bayer, Thanks for the query.
Both Insulins are similar, having a combination of rapid acting and slow acting insulins. There is hardly any difference. Thanks.

Fruits even though gd for health, if consumed in large quantities at one go, definitely spike more insulin release n d extra carbohydrates from those fruits get converted into fats. Remember anything in excess at a particular meal, will surely get converted to fats.

If you are overweight you need to reduce weight.
If all reports are normal I would advice a trial of contraceptive pills for 6 months to regularize your periods

It is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (self-monitoring of blood glucose? smbg). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record.

The total calories should be more than the energy required. There should be a step-wise increase in the calories, as a sudden increase may not be tolerated. Fluids should be restricted before and during meals. At night before going to bed, have warm milk. In your diet include 1 teaspoon of desi ghee (clarified butter) (preferably prepared from cow's milk) every day.
