Hello dear Lybrate user, hcg is absolutely safe and essential for growth of your baby. Please do t go as per internet because its very less likely you will get a correct response rather talk to your doctor. Hcg is a hormone secreted by the placenta for growth of the baby. Now tell me how can it be contrai dicated if nature is providing the same for safekeeping of your baby. Just remember no doctor will recommend anything which is not good for the baby.

Your doctor is doing best to retain this pregnancy. Heart beat is visible from 6-8 weeks. Rising levels of hcg hormone in blood would have been helpful but giving her injection hcg is more important. In normal cases, where no hcg injections are given, viability of pregnancy is assessed by measuring hcg hormone levels in blood. Good luck. Have faith.
