Dear, Yes your sugar levels are not well controlled and you are on a number of medications. But do not worry you still do not need to be insulin as we can still increase the doses of your medications. Glimepiride 1 mg can be increased so can met for min and pioglitazone. However januvia or sisal up tin is at the highest dose possible.

1) triglynase 2 forte is a combination of glimepiride 2 mg+ metformin 500 mg+ pioglitazone15 mg.
2) now there are better drugs than this tab.
3) you should take a tablet which increases your beta cell mass
4) if there is a good b cell mass it will produce more endogenous insulin.

Hello, thanks for the query.
Tablet gluconorm 500sr is containing only 500 mg of metformin in sustained release form. Where as the gluconorm pg2 contains glimiperide 2 mg and pioglitazone 15 mg. The second tablet must have been prescribed because the blood glucose levels are not in control. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Swelling in lower limbs can occur due to a multiple causes like uncontrolled high blood pressure, some heart related issues and even due to improper functioning of kidneys. Sometimes certain drugs also lead to that, like Amlodepine used in reducing BP and pioglitazone used in treating diabetes. EVen over weight and inactivity can also be a cause. So please check his kidney function test, BP readings and also level of physical activity. Thanks.

lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query.
A person with diabetes and high BP can develop swelling in the legs and feet due to many reasons. Uncontrolled BP is one of the reasons. Secondly drugs used to control BP and blood glucose can also lead to same problem. Please let me know the drugs being taken. Because drugs like Pioglitazone & Glimepiride (for diabetes) and Amlodepine can cause such a side effect including weight gain. Thanks.
