Hello Sir My 18 year son was detected for 10 mm gallbladder stone on 17 May 18 when USG done for upper abdominal pain. The medical specialist advised to take UDCA 300 mg for 30 days to break and removal of stone in natural way and need to be reviewed by surgical specialist. However he had continuous pain in the upper abdominal area with mild fever and heavy head on 27 May 18 and shown to the surgical specialist. The following medicines have been prescribed by him with advice to prepare for surgically removal of gallbladder. The medicines are Ofloxacin 400 mg BD, tinidazole 500 mg BD, combiflam TDS and Pantop 40 mg BD for -5 days. He is taking these medicines for last two days. Now he feels better with no pain. I want to know that is it necessary to remove the gall bladder at this tender age? What would be the after effect of removal of gallbladder in long run? I came to know that there is homeo medicine called Berberis vulgaris mother tincture which can be taken three times daily of 10 drops for naturally removal of this stone. What is the success rate of this medicine? Now my question is whether to administer homeo medicine first and wait for some time to see the result before surgically removal of gallbladder.

1. Slight nagging discomfort on right side, a few inches to the right (below rib cage) mostly after food - accompanied by excessive gas thru mouth, belching and bloating -loose edges flaky stools 2/3 times a day. Weak digestion and gas acidity has been a problem since the last one year or so. 2. Blood tests and ESR test done recently are okay as advised by the Pathologist per the reports (can share) 3. Some traces of E. Histolytica were detected in stool test 2 years ago. At the time I had taken Tinidazole / Tiniba 500 for 5 days. However, apparently I was not completely cured of the bacterial infection. Could the symptoms I have be due to gastritis or intestinal infection that has not been completely cured yet? I was recently advised to take Norflox TZ 500 twice for 5 days along with one tablet Rabee Lin the morning on an empty stomach. Also for the cysts removal, another doctor on Lybrate advised Bendy 400. I have taken Bendy 400 twice each after a gap of 15 days. I think Bendy 400 - albendazole. I think Bendy 400 helps. How often can I take Bendy 400, can this be taken for 5 days each night to get rid of the cysts. Please advise. And would you recommend any B12 or multivitamins to be taken with the antibiotics? Seek your advice and prescription, Thanks.

Going by the reports, you need to treat both simultaneously and avoid coitus till future samples from both of you show no growth on culture. Treatment from your physician with a drug from the most sensitive to antibiotic group for sufficient duration is mandatory.

I want to consult for my mother, age-53y. Three weeks ago she feels mild aches right lower back side occasionally. So we went to gp two weeks ago, gp suggested for usg whole abdomen and urine culture. Usg report is normal but urine culture found escherichia coli (100000 cfu/ml of unspun urine). But no burning sensation during urine. Antibiogram of culture report: amikacin – scefotaxime- cefixime- s ciprofloxacin- norfloxacin- ofloxacin- r levofloxacin-i lomefloxacin-imeropenem- moxifloxacin- Inalidixic acid- nitrofurantoin- s gentamycin- spiperac/tazobactam- samplicillin/sulbactam-s (s=sensitive,i=intermediate, r=resistant) gp prescribed - martifur 100 tablet - once for first 3 days, twice for next 12 days. Syp uriliser- 2table spoon 1/2cup water twice but no improvement after two weeks. Again consult with gp, he prescribe - o2 tablet – twice for 5 days martifur 100 – once for 10 days. But no improvement. As per antibiogram e.coli has ofloxacin resistant. But gp prescribed o2 tablet (ofloxacin-200 mg). Does o2 tablet works against these strain bacteria? Martifur 100 tablet - once for first 3 days, twice for next 12 days. Can this antibiotic effective because initially 3 days once a day (may be low dose, may bacterial got resistant for low dose)? Please suggest another medicine which would be better.
