Diabetes can be controlled/managed by a proper regulated diet and exercise..>> Avoid 3 big meals. Instead take small mini meals every 2/3 hours. At 65 yrs, hba1c is fine, but I would recommend to bring to 7, you can start with sitagliptin 100 mg once a day, and continue metformin and voglibose. Take vitamin d3 and vitamin b12 supplements, testerone levels decreases with age, tester one caps can be taken, but under guidance of urologist or sexologist.

I have seen the details given, With Kidney transplant it is better to avoid Metformin. Please let me know your serum creatinine and urea as there is a need to look at eGFR. Please tell me whether you are on only Actrapid insulin or is there another basal insulin added? Because in your case it is necessary to control blood glucose with Insulins only (Basal & rapid acting). Present glucose level is too high. I am sorry to hear about your disabilities after the above knee amputation and osteoarthritis of the other knee. Weight gain in this situation is due to severe reduction in physical activity.
