It is very difficult to give a clear answer why it happened. But it appears the earlier treatment of giving two sulfonylureas (SU) together was a wrong approach. Ideally one of the SUs is given along with metformin most often. Secondly diabetes itself damages glomerular filtering membrane in the kidney, this leads deterioration of kidney function. That leads to increase in creatinine level, protein excretion etc. In such situation Insulin is the best medication for blood glucose control. Ideally...more

Hi, you don’t need any particular medicine for your hyperpigmentated patches. These patches are the sign of insulin resistance. Reducing weight aid keeping blood sugar below in the normal range is the ideal treatment. I would recommend that you also measure your hba1c level.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have gone through the details mentioned. Your blood glucose seems to be quite well controlled. At your age ideally fbg should be < 100 mg, pp should be 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. So there is a need to look at your dietary intake more carefully and also increase the physical activity to about 1 hour plus exercise a day. Your lipid s seem to be fine, however, there is no mention of actual values of hdl & ldl. (ldl in a diabetes person should be < 70 mg). In t...more
