Pcod is a treatable not a curable disease. Hence it's better to continue with metformin as much as possible to keep it in control. There are no severe side effects nor does it affect children. Along with the metformin, I would also recommend a healthy lifestyle and diet and also getting your thyroid levels checked.

In gestational diabetes your aim should be to keep fasting blood sugar less than 95 and postprandial blood sugar less than 120. It's important that along with drug treatment you practice medical nutrition therapy which includes calorie restriction, taking small meals at frequent intervals and 10 min walk after lunch and dinner along with light intensity exercises.
