Hello,

Thanks for your query on Lybrate

"As" per your clinical history is concerned please discuss with your family doctor about the nature of your disease [Type 1 and Type 2], if type 2 then you can take medication as mentioned and if type 1 then you can take insulin regularly. In any case sugar level, 312 is very high at your age and it can deteriorate your heart further.

Hope that helps

As you have conceived then your blood sugar fasting must be below 92 mg and pp less then 122 mg. Actually insulin and life style are best ways to prevent complications of gdm. Tab. Metformin 500 mv also can be tried along with life style modifocations first. For more contact me on line.

Dear lybrate-user as I can see your blood sugars are very much under control as per your recent reports, I suggest you to watch for low blood sugars symptoms (hypoglycemia). Till then you can continue the same regime #besafe.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
It is difficult give a clear answer whether a SGLT - 2 Inhibitor can be added to existing therapy withput knowing full details of the case. I need to know the following: Fasting, PP glucose levels, HbA1c%, weight, height, serum creatinine & urea levels, eGFR and whethe there is microalbuminura. If kidney function is compromised or eGFR is low, then certain drugs can not be sude including metformin and SGLT-2 Inhibitors. Thanks.
