Looking at your fasting and pp glucose levels, it is clear that diabetes is not at all in control. Ideally in a well controlled diabetes fasting glucose should be < 100 mg & pp 160 to 170 mg and hba1c% < 7, considering your age. It is clear that present medication is not helping, there is a need for upgrading the treatment. Mr. lybrate-user, Your blood glucose is not in control. When in control fasting should be closer to 100 mg, after food 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. Mentioned levels are too high. This means either the drugs being taken are not adequate or your diet and exercise are not as needed. You need to re look at the total treatment. Thanks.

Take plain glimepiride 1 mg before breakfast. Take metformin 500 mg twice daile, before breakfast & dinner. Repeat fbs & ppbs after 2 weeks. Take small quantities of food every 3-4 hours during day. Never starve. If you exercise, do so only after taking light food.

Sir you meet your Diabetologist / Consultant who is treating you and report your problem. You shall have to exclude any Neuropathy or Myopathy which is a complication of Diabetes. Please do not ignore.
